I had a pleasant stay here with my family. We enjoyed the hearty evening meals prepared from local ingredients. The communal area made it easy for us to unwind together after long hikes. Availing fresh milk from the communal fridge was a nice touch. The dog-friendly environment added to our comfort. Breakfast was served efficiently.
We found the bar quite busy and had difficulty securing a table. The additional crowd made it feel less peaceful during our visit.

Vacuuming seemed optional, and the bathroom floor needed immediate attention. How can anyone neglect the basic preparation for a guest’s arrival? !!!

Do recommend for a weekend stopover
Cozy inn, inviting atmosphere, with a large clean room that had plenty of tea and coffee supplies, along with a complimentary jar of homemade shortbread biscuits as a delightful treat after a day of hiking.
Nothing to improve upon.

Spent two nights here and enjoyed some delicious local ales while relaxing on the patio and exploring the lovely garden. The atmosphere was perfect for unwinding after our adventures and the food was top-notch. Just a heads up, the parking was a bit tricky, so arrive early if you can! 🍻

I spent two nights in the Feature Double Room, and the room was beautiful and comfortable. It had a large layout with a sofa, two chairs, and a coffee table. Enjoyed having quality coffee and drink options in the room. The bed and pillows felt great. The thick towels added a nice touch. the bathroom could use more storage space for toiletries. Breakfast options were brilliant with lots to choose from, but a few items were colder than expected. The evening meal was delicious, offering fantastic local flavors. The staff were friendly and helpful, creating a warm atmosphere. A lovely spot to relax outside with a drink but a bit noisy at night due to creaky floorboards.

The vegetarian Sunday lunch at The Lister Arms was probably the best I've ever had, packed with vibrant flavors. Pair that with the stunning location for hikes, and you've got a winning combo! Can't forget the friendly staff who made us feel right at home.
While the barn room had a quaint charm, that its small window made it feel a bit cramped. Plus, for tall folk like me, those wood beams became a tad annoying.

the feature double room we stayed in was super comfy and had all the little extras like fresh milk for drinks. breakfast was brill, loads to choose from, and the atmosphere in the pub was really nice, everyone was friendly. the staff were always helpful, made us feel right at home. evening meal was delish too, can't get over how good the food was. loved chilling outside with a pint in the sun.
only downside was the shower temp was hard to control, and it got a bit noisy at night, could hear creaky floorboards and a neighbor snoring.

We had a lovely weekend getaway, enjoying the fantastic food and cozy atmosphere. The garden area was perfect for relaxing with a drink and watching the sunset. The only hiccup was some noise from the nearby kitchen early in the morning, but it didn't spoil our stay. 🌅

Staying in the barn was delightful, offering a stunning location where we could easily explore the nearby attractions on foot. The English breakfast was a highlight, featuring local black pudding and cooked to perfection. Service from Tim during breakfast was both attentive and friendly, contributing to a truly enjoyable experience. Some noise from the bar area was noticeable at night, and the lack of parking spots at peak times posed a slight inconvenience.
